A Joke
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples.

A letter by Bhagat Singh
There were a few letters Bhagat Singh wrote while in jail, these letters form a mirror of his thoughts as a person going to die in a few days.
“I deny the very existence of that Almighty Supreme being. Why I deny it shall be dealt with later on. Here I want to clear one thing, that it is not vanity that has actuated me to adopt the doctrines of atheism. I am neither a rival nor an incarnation nor the Supreme Being Himself. One point is decided, that it is not vanity that has led me to this mode of thinking. Let me examine the facts to disprove this allegation. My atheism is not of so recent origin. I had stopped believing in God when I was an obscure young man.”
“The most important thing was the clear conception of the ideal for which we were to fight, As there were no important activities in the field of action I got ample opportunity to study various ideals of the world revolution. I studied Bakunin, the Anarchist leader, something of Marx the father of Communism and much of Lenin, Trotsky and others the men who had successfully carried out a revolution in their country. They were all atheists. Bakunin's "God and State", though only fragmentary, is an interesting study of the subject. Later still I came across a book entitled 'Common Sense' by Nirlamba Swami. It was only a sort of mystic atheism. This subject became of utmost interest to me. By the end of 1926 I had been convinced as to the baselessness of the theory of existence of an almighty supreme being who created, guided and controlled the universe. I had given out this disbelief of mine. I began discussion on the subjects with my friends. I had become a pronounced atheist.”
“'Belief' softens the hardships, even can make them pleasant. In God man can find very strong consolation and support. Without Him, the man has to depend upon himself. To stand upon one's own legs amid storms and hurricanes is not a child's play. At such testing moments, vanity, if any, evaporates, and man cannot dare to defy the general beliefs, if he does, then we must conclude that he has got certain other strength than mere vanity. This is exactly the situation now. Judgment is already too well known. Within a week it is to be pronounced. What is the consolation with the exception of the idea that I am going to sacrifice my life for a cause ? A God-believing Hindu might be expecting to be reborn as a king, a Muslim or a Christian might dream of the luxuries to be- enjoyed in paradise and the reward he is to get for his sufferings and sacrifices. But what am I to expect? I know the moment the rope is fitted round my neck and rafters removed, from under my feet. That will be the final moment, that will be the last moment. I, or to be more precise, my soul, as interpreted in the metaphysical terminology, shall all be finished there. Nothing further.”
“British rule is here not because God wills it but because they possess power and we do not dare to oppose them. Not that it is with the help of God that they are keeping us under their subjection but it is with the help of guns and rifles, bomb and bullets, police and militia and our apathy that they are successfully committing the most deplorable sin against society- the outrageous exploitation of one nation by another. Where is God ? What is he doing? Is he enjoying all I these woes of human race ? A Nero; A Changez : Down with him.
Do you ask me how I explain the origin of this world and origin of man? Alright I tell you. Charles Darwin has tried to throw some light on the subject. Study him. Read Soham Swami's "Commonsense". It shall answer your question to some extent. This is a phenomenon of nature. The accidental mixture of different substances in the shape of nebulae produced this earth. When? Consult history. The same process produced animals and in the long run man. Read
“When informed of my atheism, he said, "During your last days you will begin to believe". I said, No, dear Sir, it shall not be. I will think that to be an act of degradation and demoralization on my part. For selfish motives I am not going to pray. Readers and friends, "Is this vanity"? If it is, I stand for it.”

Guessed the topic????
"First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak out for me. "

Here are 3 weird facts about Windows:-
1. Nobody can create a folder named Con.
Try to create anywhere on your hard disk a folder called "Con" (without the quotes). Go to a location on your hard disk, right click, choose "New" and then select "Folder" from the menu that appears. Name the folder "Con" (without quotes) and hit Enter. You’ll see that the folder won’t be named "Con". It will be "New folder".
2. A text file made with Notepad, with the following content : "Bush hid the facts" (without quotes) won’t display the actual text.Write in Notepad the following text : "Bush hid the facts" (without quotes) then Save the file and exit Notepad. Now go to the text file you created and open it. You’ll see that the text you just wrote and save won’t show.
3.Open Microsoft Word and on the first line write : "=rand(200,99)" (without the quotes) and hit Enter key. You'll see 156 pages filled with the same line.

It is what it is?
A failure again
I don't remember any such moments and if there are ,they have always been short-lived.
After clearing my Sem-II Kt's the least I would have expected is another KT in the second Semester. But not only did I failed to get a first class in my First Semester I also got two KT's in my Second Semester. Now that many will call a roller-coaster life but for me it is a pain which I feel everyday. People cry and people die but the world goes by. Slipping into oblivion is hard but saddening my parents is harder. Dark is my life forever.

Why poverty is not bad as it it made out to be???
______
How many governments are trying to deal with it? How many so called scholars are devising ways to reduce it? But how many years will it take them to understand that poverty is not something that we have to fight against? How long will they keep on humiliating poor people? Poverty has actually helped humanity over the centuries .It is the fire which purifies gold? It is the stuff of which great people are made of.Just make a count of all people who have contributed to humanity and you will find that all of them have suffered some obstacle or the other in their early life.Actually such a survey has already been done and it has been found that out of 50 eminent personalities declared greatest in the past century on a poll,there was no one who did not possess atleast one of the following qualities-
1) They had lived in poverty.
2) They had been abused as a child..
3) They had been handicapped or under the influence of a deadly disease.
4) They had been prejudiced against.
Most of them had to suffer from more than one of these conditions but they overcame all of these and became a force to reckon with.So,Obstacles not lack of them maketh a great man.
So instead of diverting our minds towards reducing poverty and other some nonsense stuff it would do more good to us to divert our energy to more important stuff like reducing hunger,misery and other sufferings.Actually instead of humiliating the poor,the rich who store hoards of money in their Swiss bank accounts should be taken to task.They live all their life enjoying comfort which is derived from the money looted from the poor.Shouldn't they be held responsible towards society? In this respect I admire Bill Gates for the steps that he is taking to reduce deaths due to polio and AIDS in Asia and Africa.This is really admirable taking into context the Ambanis in our own country who have hardly done anything considering their stature.What have they done apart from gaining money from the rising sensex by selling their stocks and then buying them back again at low prices when the sensex falls? or for that matter What has any business house except the Tatas and the Birlas done anything for our country?
Recently Mukesh Ambani has unveiled a new plan for his big house in mumbai.This when mumbai has earned a notoriety for high realty prices and the poor sleeping on the pavements.Does he ahve no conscience which can guide him?
If we are proud of these people and of the fact that they stand so high on the Forbe's list then we are a sorry lot indeed.Actually we have done nothing to be proud of.Actually we have to ashamed of ourselves for thinking too much of ourselves.

Our future
“This is the first age that's ever paid much attention to the future, which is a little ironic since we may not have one.”
Well a lot has been said about our future and I won't be pretty repeating much of this.
Our future is just not there.Those who are now 25-30 years of age may never live to see their grandchildren.We all have to embrace death someday but I think that day is not very far away about 50 years from now.
A famous poem by Robert Frost goes like this-
Some say the world will end in fire; Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To know that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

I am going to give 12 reasons why the Earth is doomed?-
1)More than a third of the natural world has been destroyed by humans over the past three decades.Another two-thirds will be destroyed in the next 50 years.After this how do you expect to survive?
2)Freshwater supplies have become scarce and polluted. Nations are blaming each other for food scarcity.
3) Using 1970 as a baseline year and giving it a value of 100, the index has dropped to a new low of around 65 in the space of a single generation. This Index denotes the level of pollution.
5) Between 1970 and 2002 forest cover has dwindled by 12 per cent.
6)We instead for investing in the security & welfare of our future are more interested in today's comfort cars and usage of fossil fuels.
7) We are more concerned how much the stock index fell rather than how closer we are inching towards death.
8) We instead of investing our time and money in research in reducing pollution are investing in new software for our computers and games for our iPods.
9)Most of people in U.S.A. think that pollution does not directly affect them? This shows our level of ignorance even in today's netizen world.
10)The level of seas has been continously been rising steadily since 1970 and if this continues by 2020 all coastal cities and by 2050 the whole world will be submerged.
11)Oscars are more widely seen in U.S. than any pollution-prevention programmme.
12) Instead of you doing about it you are reading this blog.
Now pep up and go and think in all the little ways that you can help your yet-to-be-born grandchildren.
